Okay, I got an email recently asking why my blog hasn't been updated lately. I guess I have to say something or you wont bother coming back again.
As I stated in my last post this blog was to be the dynamic section of my online world, showing all of the places I've gone and what I'm doing when I get there. Here in lies the problem... I haven't gone anywhere.
This is how it goes. When getting ready to do a major deployment such as a NATO (which I was) you have to go through a process during which you take physical, mental, financial, and legal evaluations. While I was in this process somebody decided that I was unfit for sea. Which meant that I was not flying out to meet Athabaskan. Hence I haven't gone anywhere or done anything worth noting in the last 2 months.
I'm still sitting in Halifax doing a job on the base waiting for Athabaskan to get back. Oh how exciting the navy is. Ho Hum.
And since I was unable to sail, Elspeth and I decided it would be a good time to buy a house. This did not work out either. Long story I'll tell it to you some time. Suffice to say people in the HRM have delusions of grandeur when it comes to realestate. I am not paying the same price for a house in Halifax as I would in Toronto!
And as a final kick in the head for my spring, I had to put my pretty little kitty Aisha down due to lung cancer last week.
On that note I am going to sign off and go to the gym. Hopefully my next post will be happier and more interesting.
Where in the world is Patrick?
This blog isn't a soap box or a diary of my deepest thoughts it is simply a place for my friends and family to come and see where I am and what I'm doing during my time as a Naval Electronics Technician (Fire Control) in the Canadian Navy. Dude, well you know what they say... It always gets worse before it gets better... Sound like you're over-due for a turn for the better. Glad to hear your heart is still beatin'....
While I am glad to hear from you it is unfortunate the circumstances. I can tell you it will get better, doesn't it almost have to? Life's like that. I can tell you're keeping your sense of humour.
